No sabia fins fa quatre dies que l’ONU tingués himne*, ni que aquest himne estigués relacionat amb Catalunya, ni que a hores d’ara fos gairebé inèdit per pressions polítiques. Ací el teniu:

* Himne de les Nacions Unides o Himne de la pau, encarregat a Auden i Casals amb motiu dels 25 anys de la creació de l’ONU, i estrenat el 24 d'octubre de 1971 a la seu de l’ONU de Nova York. No s’ha tornat a interpretar, pel veto que immediatament hi van posar Espanya i la Gran Bretanya. Espanya, per Pau Casals, exiliat i considerat «desafecto al régimen»; els britànics, perquè Auden havia fugit del país l’any 1939, poc després d’acabar la guerra espanyola en la qual havia participat com a voluntari donant suport a la república, i es va refugiar als Estats Units.
